Job Description

 

As a Host and Cashier (ToGo and Retail Store) you will work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, environment to deliver the best service experience to every guest that steps foot into Silver Gulch's establishment at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport:

 

  • Greeting guests in a friendly and inviting manner; you provide the initial contact with the customer with courtesy and a smile. 

 

  • Engaging in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion

 

  • Introducing guests to their server

 

  • Cleaning counters, display areas, floors, and any other visible area that the guest might see, free of debris, dust particles, clean, and sanitary

 

  • Ensuring Retail inventory is displayed correctly and in a orderly manner.

 

  • Assisting customers with sizing, product selection and suggestions.

 

  • Taking accurate orders and inputing into the Squirrel POS system;  and to be able to take payment using the Squirrel POS system

 

  • Proper cash handling in a fast paced environment.

 

  • To follow correct cash out procedures, by putting all receipts in order, and verifying the correct tips and payments on checks

 

  • To obtain an Anchorage food worker card

 

  • To obtain a TAPs card and to follow all TAP’s guidelines and state alcohol regulations per sale of alcohol in the Retail store.  Check all IDs.

 

  • To abide by the Silver Gulch Service Standards Packet.

 

  • Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return

Requirements

 

This Position Requires:

 

Minimum age required (21 years). The ability to effectively accomplish service objectives with a sense of urgency.  The ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision or support.  Must be able to effectively organize people and service activities.  Must be able to balance multiple activities with an attention to detail.  Dedication to understanding and exceeding customer expectations

High school graduation (or equivalent) and at least two years of directly related food preparation experience.  Candidates must have the ability to handle multiple tasks occurring at the same time.

A current “Food Handler’s Card”, TAPS Certified, reliable transportation, well groomed appearance and good hygiene

Pass TSA background and screening requirements to obtain necessary security clearances; adhere to all TSA and airport requirements for concession employees.

Physical Demands:

 

Employees are regularly required to stand for long periods of time, use hands, reach with hands and arms, taste, and smell.  The employee is frequently required to walk, talk, or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit or stoop.  The employee must regularly lift up to 30 lbs. Specific vision required include close vision, depth, color vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and cold non-weather as well as moving mechanical parts.  The employee must have the physical stamina to work on 8 to 12 hour shifts for extended periods of time.
